Know Before You Pay

D · Weak on paper38/100

The published terms work against the team: dear per game, refunds that keep your money, a mandatory hotel block, or some combination. This is what the organizer states, not what teams reported.

How this is calculated

How much of this is published

Partly published3 of 4

Some of the four terms facts are unpublished and score at the midpoint of their range. The grade is real but it is partly a statement about what has not been said.

The four gradeable facts are the entry fee, the refund policy, the hotel requirement and the guaranteed game count. Anything the organizer leaves out is priced at the middle of its range rather than counted against them — most operators quote on application, and a grade that punished silence would be reporting our own missing data as their failing.

Nobody who attended has filed a moderated review yet, so there is nothing to report. This is a statement about our review coverage, not about the event — the GameVoyaGrade beside it is published either way.

Organizers may answer a review in public, and their responses are labelled and shown. They are excluded from every average, count and return rate here, so an operator cannot move their own rating.

What to expect

Compiled from OneHockey’s own event page for the Memorial Day weekend in Las Vegas. Every participating team is guaranteed a minimum of four games over three 14-minute stop-time periods, games run Friday to Monday, all out-of-town teams play on the Monday, and the organizer asks teams to plan for a four-night stay. The tournament fee is $2,295 USD. This listing is recorded as a stay-to-play event because the page prices an opt-out rather than an option: out-of-town teams who want to book their own rooms pay a $1,000 per-team hotel buyout, which appears as a second charge at registration. AAA divisions are published by birth year, 2011 through 2018, alongside A and AA at 10U to 16U and girls Tier II at 12U to 19U. The page names no arena, so no venue is recorded, and it publishes no refund or cancellation terms.

What a player gets seen doing

Not published

11 / 22 exposure points

The organizer publishes nothing about scouts, streaming, video or stats. That is normal for a house or in-season tournament and is not held against the event.

Not stated by the organizer

  • Scouts and college coaches attend
  • Showcase format
  • Advances to a championship
  • Games streamed
  • Game video for teams
  • Live stats and standings
  • Professional photography

Silence is scored as an unknown, not as a no. Nothing here is deducted for a feature the organizer simply did not mention.

The GameVoyaGrade above is published from this event’s own cost, terms and exposure, so it stands without reviews. The Attendee Rating does not: if you were there, yours would be the first and it would carry real weight.

You attended OneHockey Las Vegas. Tell the next team what to expect.

This is the Attendee Rating — the half of a listing we cannot work out ourselves. It is filed by people who were at the event: coaches, managers, parents, players, officials and scouts. Organizers cannot file one, and the GameVoyaGrade never reads reviews at all.
