The 18-and-under half of USA Volleyball's junior championships, played on its own weekend in early May because the age group's club season ends before the younger ones do. Entry is by a bid earned at a national qualifier or by at-large application rather than by open registration, so a team knows whether it is in some months before it knows what it costs -- the operator quotes the entry to qualified teams and publishes no figure on the championship page.
