What to expect
A January masters tournament on three fields in Weston, west of Fort Lauderdale, in age bands from 40 up -- Supermasters at 40, Grand Masters at 45, Half Century at 50 and Past Masters at 60, with the A brackets of two of them contested as national championships. At least four games are guaranteed and a team may get five or six depending on its bracket; four is what is recorded, which is this index's convention of recording what the operator actually commits to rather than the flattering end of a range. Two published terms are worth reading before entering: there are no age exemptions in 2027, so a roster that got a player through on a waiver last year will not this year, and entry is payable in full at registration and is not refundable. The 2027 team price is published when registration opens in the August before the tournament, so none is recorded. Hotels are arranged through a travel partner and are not required.
